Flyball 101: Beginner Flyball
Instructor: Lauren Almond

Fri, 31 May, 2013 8:00 PM - 9:00 PM

REGISTER

Flyball is an exciting, fast-paced relay race for dogs. Each handler of a 4-person team sends their dog down over 4 jumps to a box that spits out a tennis ball. The dog then hurries back with the tennis ball over the 4 jumps so the next dog can go. The jumps are set 10 feet apart and are no taller than the shoulder height of the smallest dog on the team. The current registered fastest speed for 4 dogs to complete the course is 15.22 seconds!

Your dog does not have to be a ball fanatic or a speed demon to play this game well. Dogs of all shapes and sizes can play. We will teach your dog to run over 4 jumps, fetch a ball from a box, and return it over 4 jumps to you. He or she does, however, have to be tolerant of dogs and people in a high-energy environment. And, your dog should be in good physical condition as this sport involves quite a bit of jumping. Looking for a fun outlet for a your pup? This is the game for you.

Flyball 101 is for dogs and handlers with no previous Flyball experience. All dogs should be current on shots and older than 1 year unless permission given by instructor. This class meets for 7 weeks for 1 hour each week.
