We were adopted: November 16 – 22, 2020

Posted on Monday, November 23, 2020

We are excited to announce that 64 pets will be enjoying Thanksgiving with families of their own this week! We want to especially thank our adoption counselors for uniting long-term residents Cavalier, Vegemite and Jace with their forever families. Congratulations to our adopters and our new canine and feline alumni!

If you are interested in adopting a pet, please fill out an adoption survey and then call 804-521-1307 and leave a voicemail with your contact information. Adoption interest has remained high during the pandemic and our adoption counselors are working very hard to return calls and schedule adoption appointments. During our phone counseling process, interested adopters will be guided to view pets online while speaking with a counselor. We appreciate our community’s patience and are excited to help families find their perfect match!

Please note that the Richmond SPCA and the Susan M Markel Veterinary Hospital will be closed for Thanksgiving on Thursday, November 26, 2020.

On Friday, November 27, the Susan M. Markel Veterinary Hospital, our admissions office and our administrative offices will remain closed. Our adoption center and Lora Robins Gift Shop will be open for regular operating hours, noon to 7 p.m.

Please check our website for new information and details related to our planning and related operational changes, as that is where we will be posting updates. This is a fluid situation, and we are planning thoughtfully while also being nimble to make changes as necessary to best protect our community’s pets and the people who love them.
