Vander is all smiles about finding his perfect match!

We are giving thanks to our wonderful adopters who opened their hearts and homes to 40 pets this past week! We are excited to announce that Vander, a 4-year-old dog who was transferred into our care from Texas ahead of Hurricane Laura, found a loving and lasting home before the holidays. View the other 40 lucky canine and felines who were adopted in the galleries below.

If you are interested in adopting a pet, please fill out an adoption survey and then call 804-521-1307 and leave a voicemail with your contact information. Adoption interest has remained high during the pandemic and our adoption counselors are working very hard to return calls and schedule adoption appointments. During our phone counseling process, interested adopters will be guided to view pets online while speaking with a counselor. We appreciate our community’s patience and are excited to help families find their perfect match!

Please check our website for new information and details related to our planning and related operational changes, as that is where we will be posting updates. This is a fluid situation, and we are planning thoughtfully while also being nimble to make changes as necessary to best protect our community’s pets and the people who love them.
