We were adopted: December 21 – 27, 2020

Posted on Monday, December 28, 2020
After 135 days in our care, Maynard was adopted! His family reports that he enjoyed sleeping by the tree, looking at holiday lights and taking long walks in his holiday sweater. Maynard's future holds lots of hikes, love and boat rides with his new family.

Uniting 47 pets with their perfect matches was the best gift our staff could ask for! We are happy to announce that 16 dogs and 31 cats enjoyed the holidays at home with their loving guardians. Maynard, a dog that had been in our care for 135 days, was adopted by his loving foster family on the day before before Christmas Eve. His family reports that he shared a wonderful Christmas with them and enjoyed sleeping by the tree, looking at holiday lights and taking long walks in his holiday sweater. Congratulations to our new adopters and four-legged alumni!

Our team of adoption counselors are continuing to work very hard to catch up returning calls and emails and scheduling appointments for those callers to meet pets awaiting adoption. If you are interested in adopting a pet, please fill out an adoption survey and then call 804-521-1307 and leave a voicemail with your contact information. During our phone counseling process, interested adopters will be guided to view pets online while speaking with a counselor. We appreciate our community’s patience and are excited to help families find their perfect match!
