We were adopted: February 1 – 7, 2021

Be mine? Rose adopted a sweet calico kitty named Callie this week.

Our adoption counselors played Cupid and matched 62 pets with their perfect guardians this past week! Notable adoptions included long-term residents Callie, Bonjour, Corningstone, Ingrid and Mable. Adoption counselor Julia helped matched Rose with 4-year-old Callie and had this to say about the adoption:

“Callie has been in our care since October 2020. She is such a sweet cat, but her shy nature made her timid when it came to meeting potential adopters. When I let Rose meet Callie in her cage space, Callie started rolling over and allowing Rose to pet her. When we transferred Callie into a visiting room, she climbed onto Rose’s lap and started purring. She stayed the whole appointment next to Rose with her head in Rose’s hand. She had a wonderful instant connection with Rose that I have never seen in an adoption before.”

What a purr-fect match! If you are interested in adopting a pet, please fill out an adoption survey and then call 804-521-1307 and leave a voicemail with your contact information. During our phone counseling process, interested adopters will be guided to view pets online while speaking with a counselor. We appreciate our community’s patience and are excited to help families find their perfect match!

Please check our website for new information and details related to our planning and related operational changes, as that is where we will be posting updates. This is a fluid situation, and we are planning thoughtfully while also being nimble to make changes as necessary to best protect our community’s pets and the people who love them.
