Bidding open in the Richmond SPCA’s largest-ever Fur Ball auction

The Richmond SPCA will hold its 23rd Annual Fur Ball on Saturday, November 6, and bidding in the fundraising event’s online auction is now open.
While the in-person Fur Ball, presented by Dominion Energy, at The Jefferson Hotel is sold out, the Truist Auction is open to all adults. It is free to sign up to bid in the online auction, and thanks to Diamonds Direct – Short Pump, each registrant will be entered to win a beautiful 14-karat white gold circle diamond necklace. Every bid placed gives the bidder another chance to win the necklace, which 24 brilliant round cut diamonds.

“This is our largest-ever Fur Ball auction, with more than 100 packages generously donated by businesses and individuals,” said Tamsen Kingry, chief executive officer of the Richmond SPCA. “The Fur Ball makes the rescue and rehabilitation of thousands of our community’s most vulnerable homeless animals possible, and we hope these deserving animals along with the fabulous packages will inspire enthusiastic and competitive bidding.”
Proceeds from the event benefit the Cinderella Fund, which is devoted solely to the veterinary treatment and rehabilitation of sick, injured and neonatal homeless pets, expenses for which the Richmond SPCA has budgeted approximately $990,000 in the year ahead. The Richmond SPCA cared for 3,849 homeless pets between October 1, 2020 and September 30, 2021, and more than 90 percent were treated for sickness or injury before being adopted to lasting homes. The goal for the Fur Ball’s new hybrid format is to raise $600,000.
The online auction features experiences, classes and family friendly packages. Bidding is powered by GiveSmart, proving an easy, secure platform to bid from a smartphone, tablet or computer. Sign up to participate at rvafurball.givesmart.com. The auction closes Saturday, November 6 at 10:30 p.m.
