We celebrated the first week of 2025 with 78 adoptions including long-term pets like Amos, Down Under, Fireball and Lynard! We are so excited for the 70 cats and eight dogs who found their loving, lasting homes at the start of the new year. Huge congratulations to our recent alumni and their new adopters!

Notable adoptions

Amos: Amos has been in and out of our care since May, and after eight months in our care, we are so excited to share that he found his loving, lasting home! Huge congratulations to this handsome boy and his pawfect match.

Down Under: This sweet hound has been in and out of our care since September and finally found his match last week! We are so happy for Down Under and his new family.

Fireball: Fireball came into our care in November, and we all fell in love with him! Our wonderful feline enrichment specialist Abby took him in as a foster where he received a much needed break from the shelter. Soon after his return, he found a place of his own to call home. We are so thrilled for Fireball and his adopter!

Lynard: Lynard first came into our care in October as part of our efforts to help a North Carolina shelter that was impacted during hurricane season. He was a staff and volunteer favorite during his stay with us, but we are so excited that he found his loving, lasting home.

While he’s only been out of our care for a few days, we were so excited when Lynard’s adopter reached out with an update. Lynard’s guardian told us that he was settling in great and is very vocal and lovable. His adopter shared that Lynard has found a cozy spot next to him on his bed and also got the chance to experience snow yesterday! Congratulations to Lynard and his new guardian.
