Compassion in Action: December 2024

As we rang in the New Year, we had 195 animals in our care after finding homes for 302 pets during the course of December. It was an active month across our training and education programs, and many local students spent part of their school holiday with us for one of our Winter Break camps, which debuted with all new curriculum, a program refresh that will continue through our summer Compassion Unleashed Critter Camp, which is opening for registration very soon.
Our volunteers also stayed active through the holidays, logging thousands of hours supporting all aspects of the Richmond SPCA’s programming. We’re grateful to these dedicated individuals for all they do to help us, the animals in our care and our community! If you have a corporate group, club or other organization looking for a service opportunity in the first quarter of 2025, learn how you can get involved.

Recurring monthly gifts from our Pet Pals donors ensure we are prepared to say “yes” to the next pet or person in need of help. A small monthly gift adds up over the course of the year, equipping us to shelter, treat, train and more. Join the Pet Pal ranks today to help save lives every month!
