We Were Adopted: January 20 – 26, 2025

Our adoption bell rang 55 times last week thanks to our dedicated adoption counselors who found homes for 35 cats, 18 dogs and two rabbits. It was a great week for many of our long-term pets like Diving Board, Duke, Ocean Eyes, Steven and Zeb who all found loving, lasting homes just in time for Valentine’s Day. Our tails are wagging with joy for our new alumni and their guardians!
But wait, we’re not just celebrating our latest adoptees — there’s even more excitement on the horizon! Be sure to mark your calendars for the following pawsome events happening at Richmond SPCA:
❄️💙 Snow Much Love Adoption Special (January 27 – 31): Adopt an adult pet for 25% off and find your snuggle buddy to keep you warm during this chilly winter season!

Heartwarming moment of the week
We head over paws that so many of our long-term pets found a place to call home last week! Get to know these special tails a little better.
Diving Board: Diving Board came into our care back in September and he was a favorite at the Richmond SPCA. While he made many friends in our care, we are so happy to share he found the friend that matters most. Congratulations to Diving Board and his new guardian!

Duke: Duke arrived at our humane center in February of 2022 and always walked around our halls with a big smile. He loved going on field trips with our staff and volunteers and always had a great time with our trainers. After years in our care, we are thrilled that he finally found his match! Congratulations!

Ocean Eyes: Ocean Eyes has been in and out of our care since August and we all fell in love with his beautiful big blues! During his time with us, Ocean Eyes was incredibly sweet and loving and always wanted a lap to sit on. We are so excited that he has found his purrfect home!

Steven: Steven joined the Richmond SPCA club in May 2023. He was (and still is!) loved by so many staff, volunteers and his trainers. If you ever got the chance to meet Steven, you would know he had the goofiest sit that would make everyone laugh. While we enjoyed his stay in our “club,” we are even more excited to say that he is now a part of the Richmond SPCA alumni club. Congrats to Steven and his new person!

Zeb: During Zeb’s time in our care, he was very nervous, making it challenging to find someone who would be patient with him while he learned that the world isn’t so scary. After many, many visits from our feline enrichment specialist and several other staff members and volunteers, Zeb slowly but surely started to come out of his shell. Zeb first came into our care on Valentine’s Day of last year. This year, he left our care with a Valentine of his own. Congratulations to this sweet boy and his new guardian!
