Compassion in Action: March 2025

We welcomed spring with our annual Dog Jog, 5K and Block Party on March 22. The event happens on the streets surrounding our humane center and is a celebration of the work being done within its walls. A few thousand of our closest friends helped us meet our $215,000 fundraising goal. Here’s our monthly look at what that support does across the Richmond SPCA’s programs and services.
Two of the biggest attractions during the Dog Jog, 5K and Block Party are our Kids Fun Zone — featuring crafts and other activities with our humane education department — and Pets Fun Zone — where dogs and their guardians can try out a mini-agility course guided with positive reinforcement from our training class instructors. If you missed the chance to try out these activities or are ready to come back for more, check our upcoming offerings for kids or sign up for a class with your dog.

Recurring monthly gifts from our Pet Pals donors ensure we are prepared to say “yes” to the next pet or person in need of help. A small monthly gift adds up over the course of the year, equipping us to shelter, treat, train and more. Join the Pet Pal ranks today to help save lives every month!
