We Were Adopted: April 21 – 27, 2025
Our amazing adoption counselors found homes for 63 pets last week! Among those were pets like Charles, Scritch, Chimera and Sir Egg. Congratulations to all of our newest alumni and their wonderful adopters.

Notable adoptions
Scritch: After being in our care since January, sweet Scritch found his loving, lasting home last week! Scritch first came to us in rough shape. He needed to recover from severe allergies and spent some time in foster care where he had the transformation of a lifetime. After looking and feeling more like himself, Scritch found his way to his new home. Congratulations!
Charles: Charles was a staff favorite while in our care. He was well known for stopping in his tracks (no matter where he was) for a quick nap. He always loved visiting the kids who came for our children’s camps and had a great time participating (or napping) in our Dog Jog, 5K and Block Party as well as the Greatest Virginia Greenup. We are so happy that after being in our care for two months, he finally found his pawfect match!
Salvador: Salvador was a sweet hound who made his way to our humane center back in January. He found himself enjoying the snow in the winter and finding his new family in the spring. We are so happy to share that Salvador joined our the rest of the Richmond SPCA alumni last week!
Earth Day at the Richmond SPCA
Last Tuesday, Dominion Energy and Keep Virginia Beautiful came by our humane center and celebrated Earth Day by giving a little love back to the planet and to the pets who call it home. Together with Richmond SPCA volunteers, everyone did a fantastic job cleaning up trash, glass and cigarette butts to help make our neighborhood look pawsitively perfect.
