We Were Adopted: May 19 – 25, 2025

Our incredible team worked together to find homes for 71 precious pets last week! Pets you might recognize like Blanche, Pochita, Waylon and Felix finally found their matches after a longer stay in our care. Congratulations to our newest alumni and their guardians!

Heartwarming moment of the week
Notable adoptions
Blanche: We first met sweet Blanche last summer as a puppy and she instantly became a Richmond SPCA favorite. She grew up and lived out her puppy years with our staff, trainers and volunteers and formed many bonds during her stay. After being in our care since July 2024, Blanche finally met her perfect match last week, and left our humane center to live her best life in her new lasting, loving home!

Pochita: Pochita came into our care in February and after three months in our care, she met her match! We are so happy for this sweet girl and her new guardian.

Waylon: Waylon came to the Richmond SPCA in February and during his vet visit, our veterinarian discovered two large tumors in his bladder. After more testing, it was unfortunately determined that Waylon has cancer, which prolonged his stay in our care. Luckily, someone saw beyond his diagnosis, and chose to give Waylon a comfortable and loving home. Congrats to Waylon and his new person!

Felix: Felix came into our care in January and our veterinarian found that his nose was very inflamed. After some tests, Felix came back positive for multiple pathogens considered to be part of the Upper Respiratory Infection complex (chlamydia, calicivirus, and mycoplasma). After an aggressive treatment course, Felix improved and he was adopted into his loving home last week. Congratulations!
