Knight, Tahoe (yes, Tahoe! ), Firework and Pinto found their loving homes last week! In total, 74 pets met their match. Congratulations to our newest alumni and their adopters!
The celebrations don’t stop there! At the Richmond SPCA, we’re officially in summer mode. We’re honoring the heart, dedication and impact of educators in our community with a special week just for you! From June 2–8, teachers, administrators and support staff will receive 20% off pet adoption fees as a small thank-you for all you do. Simply present a valid school ID at the time of adoption to receive the discount.

Notable adoptions
Tahoe: Tahoe first came into our care in August 2021 and was in and out of the shelter until last week, when he found his loving, lasting home. He had so many people who adored him at the Richmond SPCA including our staff, volunteers and even internet friends. While we might still be wiping our (happy) tears from our eyes, we’re also howling with joy for Tahoe and his new person.
Wren: We first met Wren in March 2023 and two years later, she found herself back in our care when she arrived in March 2025. After spending some time in our humane center, Wren finally found her match last week. She lit up every room with her beautiful yellow eyes and we can’t wait to see how she lights up someone else’s world. Congratulations to Wren and her new guardian!
Pamela: We first met this cutie in October 2023 and she came back into our care this past March. During her time with us, Pamela always had a smile on her face and loved meeting new people. We know she’s going to make an incredible addition to her new family. Congratulations!
