We Were Adopted: June 2 – 8, 2025

Our hardworking team placed 86 cats, 24 dogs and one guinea pig into loving, lasting homes last week. There was magic in the air as many staff favorites like King, Ombre, Shrimp, Amara, Moose Track and Krys met their pawfect matches. Watching them head home was the kind of joy that reminds us why we do this work. Congratulations to our newest Richmond SPCA alumni and the incredible adopters who made room in their hearts and homes!

Notable adoptions
King: King came into our care in December 2024 and quickly became a staff favorite — a total lovebug who stole every heart he met. When he arrived at the Richmond SPCA, our team discovered that King had severe ear allergies and MRSP, a type of bacteria resistant to common antibiotics. While MRSP is typically easy to manage, it can pose a risk to people with compromised immune systems, which made finding his perfect match a bit more difficult. However, after months of patience, care and cuddles, we’re thrilled to share that King has finally found his loving, lasting home!

Ombre: We met Ombre in October 2024 and loved getting to spend time with him while he was in our care. While he was incredibly sweet and perfect in every way, Ombre suffered from urinary incompetence, making it harder to find someone who could look past the extra care he needs. We knew his person would come around one day and that day finally came last week. Congratulations to Ombre and his new guardian!

Moose Track: Moose Track came into our care in April and after two months in our care, he finally found his purrfect match! Congrats to this sweet boy and his new guardian.

Shrimp: We met Shrimp this past April and after a few months in our care, he found his loving, lasting home last week! Our staff and volunteers are so excited for Shrimp and his new person.

Krys: Krys was transferred to the Richmond SPCA in March of this year and after a longer stay in our care, he went home to his new best friend last week. Congratulations to this sweet boy and his adopter!
