Behavior Consultations

Consultations are intended for behavior problems in both dogs and cats. These are issues that cannot be covered in a group class and may include aggression, reactivity, fearfulness, housetraining, scratching, litter box issues and an array of other problems.

For individual training with manners that would not be considered a behavior problem, please schedule a private lesson.

Interested in a behavior consultation for your pet? Please contact our behavior helpline at 804-643-7722 or behaviorhelpline@richmondspca.org.

Pets adopted from the Richmond SPCA within six months may have up to three free consultations. Pets adopted from the Richmond SPCA at any time are offered one free behavior consultation.

After you have discussed your training goals with one of our trainers, please select the appropriate type of behavior consultation for your pet, below.

Refunds will not be given for cancellations with less than 24 hours notice. All consultations for cats will be through Zoom. Dog consultations can be done both through Zoom or at our training center. We are not offering in-home consultations at this time.
