Advanced Canine Manners

January 25 – March 7, 2020
Saturdays at 9:30 a.m.

Instructor: Alisha Fritz

Prerequisite: Canine Manners or equivalent. Dogs should have been introduced to the following before attending this class: sit, down, stay, come, and leave it (behaviors need not be perfect).

Advanced Canine Manners is an intermediate-level manners course designed to advance the skills your dog already learned in Canine Manners.  We will explore more deeply the science of dog training and cover behaviors and training tools such as:

  • Advancing your dog’s stay, leave it, and recall
  • Behavior chains
  • Drop
  • Stand
  • Release cues
  • No reward markers
  • Distance/off-leash exercises (off-leash training will be simulated using long lines for safety)
  • Distraction exercises
  • And more!

  All classes are with dogs.

All dogs must be up-to-date on vaccinations and at least 6 months old. Spaying or neutering is strongly recommended.

Seven-week, one-hour class in Smoky’s Training Center.
