Please review our Covid-19 training class policies before your first class.

This is a basic manners course that shows you how to teach your dog the essential skills needed to succeed in everyday life. We will cover the following:

  • How dogs learn and the basics of marker (aka clicker) training
  • Getting and keeping your dog’s attention
  • Name recognition
  • Sit
  • Down
  • Stay
  • Come
  • Leave it
  • Not jumping on people
  • Keeping your dog’s attention and maintaining good behaviors even when you are not carrying food or other motivators and rewards

The manners covered in this course are a prerequisite for other classes or activities you may plan to do with your dog in the future. Canine Manners is suggested as one of the foundation classes for either sports or CGC classes. The first class is for people only.

Seven-session, one-hour class in Smoky’s Training Center
