Canine Manners

This is a basic manners course that shows you how to teach your dog the essential skills needed to succeed in everyday life. We will cover the following:

  • How dogs learn and the basics of marker training
  • Getting and keeping your dog’s attention
  • Name recognition
  • Sit
  • Down
  • Stay
  • Come
  • Leave it
  • Not jumping on people
  • Keeping your dog’s attention and maintaining good behaviors even when you are not carrying food or other motivators and rewards

The manners covered in this course are a prerequisite for other classes or activities you may plan to do with your dog in the future. The first class is for people only.

All dogs must be 6 months or older to attend this class. Dogs who are older than one year must be spayed or neutered prior to the start of class.

Seven-session, one-hour class in the first half of Smoky’s Training Center.
