Sundays at 12:00 p.m.

Please read the Richmond SPCA Training Class COVID-19 Policies before attending your first class.

Instructor: Beth White

Designed for older puppies who are 16-24 weeks of age at the start of class. This class combines training, socialization and most importantly, fun!  We will build on the puppy’s socialization with people and other dogs as they enter adolescence while introducing important manners and skills. We will also spend time on exercises to help prevent common behavior challenges.

We will discuss:

  • The importance of socialization at an early age
  • How dogs learn and an introduction to clicker training
  • How to identify friendly play with other dogs
  • Name recognition
  • Sit
  • Come
  • Confidence building
  • Jumping up
  • Leash walking
  • Resource guarding prevention
  • Body handling
  • Mouthing

The first class is for people only.

All puppies must be 16-24 weeks of age and current on vaccinations. Puppy classes are designed to be followed by Surviving Adolescence.

Seven-session, one-hour class in Smoky’s Training Center.
