Thanks for joining the lifesaving fun at the Dog Jog, 5K and Block Party presented by Holiday Barn Pet Resorts on March 23 and 24, 2024 at our Robins-Starr Humane Center (2519 Hermitage Road, Richmond, VA 23220).
We are excited to host our in-person Dog Jog and 5K, while still offering a virtual Run Anywhere option for those who want to join in on the fun from your favorite trail or neighborhood.
The day begins with a chip-timed 5K (3.1-mile) for people only and then a leisurely 1-mile Dog Jog. The 5K and Dog Jog are rain or shine events and scheduled to occur as planned on Saturday (10 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. Saturday, respectively).
Due to the rain expected throughout the afternoon Saturday, the Block Party and Little Paws Fun Run for kids ages 4 to 10 have been moved to Sunday, March 24, from noon to 5 p.m. Our Block Party, featuring live music, special performances, beer/wine trucks and much more, kicks off at noon and is free to attend.
The first 1,000 registrants receive a T-shirt and bag full of giveaways from our generous sponsors. We award 5K finisher awards and fundraising prizes to our top participants. These items will be available for pickup outside the Smoky’s Training Center, where our top 5K finisher results will be posted on Saturday, March 23. We will award our top individual and team fundraisers as well as our fastest 5K finishers both overall and by age group.

Registered 5K or Dog Jog participants can take part by:
- Running or walking our official 5K (3.1 miles) (no pets allowed)
- Enjoying our official 1-mile Dog Jog with your dog by your side
- Participating in the 5K or Dog Jog wherever you wish when you sign up for our Run Anywhere option
- Raising lifesaving funds through your personal fundraising webpage, making you eligible for fundraising incentives and prizes
Each registered 5K or Dog Jog participant will receive:
- An event T-shirt (for the first 1,000 registrants)
- An event medal (for the first 1,000 registrants)
- A bag full of giveaways from our generous sponsors (for the first 1,000 registered participants)
- A numbered race bib (for the 5K)
- GPS tracking, progress alerts and official race timing through the RaceJoy app as you hit milestones along your route (if you choose our Run Anywhere option)
Pick up your items at our drive-thru packet pickup on March 19 or 20, or choose to pay to have your items shipped to you.
Can’t attend our drive-thru packet pickup? Select an alternative date after March 23 to pick up your items.

Parking is free at The Diamond in the Pink or Green Lots. All lots are a short walk (about two city blocks) from the Richmond SPCA. As you exit the lot on Hermitage Road, walk south and you will see the Richmond SPCA on your left. Handicapped parking is available at the Richmond SPCA.
