Give a Kitten a Name and a Future this Mother’s Day
When a tiny kitten arrives at the Richmond SPCA, they often come with nothing—no name, no family, just an unwritten story full of hope. You can be the one to give their journey a meaningful beginning.
This Mother’s Day, celebrate the compassion of a mom, stepmom, grandmother, aunt—or anyone whose love has shaped your life—by naming a kitten in her honor. With your $40 donation, you’ll provide a homeless kitten with lifesaving vaccines, tender care, and the promise of a brighter future.
We’ll send you a beautiful digital photo to present to your honoree on Mother’s Day—a heartfelt gift that shows how her nurturing spirit continues to make the world a better place.
Each year, the Richmond SPCA cares for about 1,700 kittens. Together, let’s show every kitten that they are loved from the very beginning.
P.S. Don’t miss out on our Kitten Shower from 1-4 p.m. on Saturday, May 10 at the Richmond SPCA.
What could $40 do for a neonatal kitten?
- Snuggle Safe + Calmaroo: Provides warmth and companionship to orphaned neonates.
- Formula: Nourishes a kitten with specially formulated milk replacement needed for survival.
- Bottles, nipples, syringes and scale: These are essential tools for our foster care volunteers to bottle feed kittens effectively and monitor their growth and health.
Kitten Naming guidelines:
- Names can be up to 11 characters long (letters, numbers and spaces count).
- Names must be appropriate and are subject to Richmond SPCA approval. We cannot accept political, partisan or offensive names.
- Some names may already be in use by animals in our care. That’s why we ask for two suggestions! We’ll contact you if your chosen name isn’t available.
Enter your first suggestion in the “first name” box and second suggestion in the “last name” box:
Please note, during the height of kitten season, we expect to have plenty of kittens in our care. However, if we run out of kittens available for naming during this promotion, your generous gift will go toward a deserving mom or female cat instead. And if we run out of mom or female cats, we’ll choose a loving mom or female dog to receive your special gift. No matter who receives the name, your support will provide lifesaving care to a pet in need.
