DESCRIPTION:When school is out\, camp is in session at the Richmond SPCA. These half-day camps are the perfect way for children in first through sixth grade to spend a school break learning\, playing and connecting with shelter pets through hands-on activities and animal-centered fun. \nEach half-day session is $50. \n\n\n\nAM Session 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.\nPM Session 1:00 - 4:00 p.m.\n\n\nCats Through Time and Space\nDogs Through Time and Space\n\n\n\n  \nFamilies may add optional aftercare at checkout to extend the day until 5 p.m. Campers may register for both the morning and afternoon sessions to enjoy different activities throughout the day. If registering for both sessions\, please send a packed lunch. \nIf a program does not meet the minimum enrollment required\, we reserve the right to cancel the session. Registered participants will be notified and may transfer to another session or receive a full refund. \n

Pre-order a heart-shaped pizza from Papa John’s today and enjoy it at the Dog Kissing Booth. Pizzas are available by pre-order only\, and orders must be placed by 9 a.m. on Wednesday\, February 11 to be available day of the event. You can go up the stairs in our front lobby or take the elevator. There will be signs directing you to the kissing booth. \nWhat will the money raised support?\nAll donations directly support the lifesaving programs at the Richmond SPCA. Each year\, we save about 4\,000 pets through rescue\, rehabilitation and adoption. In addition\, we serve thousands of pets and people through programs like our Pet Pantry\, Behavior Helpline\, Smoky’s Spay & Neuter Clinic and low-cost Susan M. Markel Veterinary Hospital. \nAre cats allowed at the Dog Kissing Booth?\nYes\, participants can bring their feline companion to the kissing booth. Cats must be transported in a secure carrier and wear leash attached to a harness or collar during the photo session. \nHow many photos can I take?\nEach participant can take multiple photos\, but will receive only one printed photo per $10 donation to the Richmond SPCA. Additional photos can be purchased at $10 each. All photos will be sent by email following the event. \nDo I have to have a pet to take a photo?\nNo\, you do not have to have a pet of your own. SUMMARY:Introduction to Trap-Neuter-Vaccinate-Return (TNVR)
DESCRIPTION:Through TNVR programs\, community cat populations are humanely managed. Compassionate volunteers trap cats in humane traps\, transport them to a veterinary hospital to be sterilized and vaccinated against rabies and return them to the location where they were trapped. \nThis work improves the lives of free-roaming\, unowned cats by preventing reproduction and addresses public health through vaccination. Learn more about the Richmond SPCA’s TNVR program. \nDuring this training\, Peggy will provide hands-on instruction for those wanting to help community cats through TNVR. \nRegistration for this free workshop is required. Pizza will be provided\, and advance signups ensure we make an accurate order.

Tickets are $55 per person and $10 from every ticket sold will be donated to the Richmond SPCA. \n\n\nThis immersive workshop is perfect for both beginners and experienced artists ages 15 and older looking to explore this unique and festive medium to create a lifelike rendering of your furry friend. \nOnline registrations are required\, and seating is limited. Ticket purchase includes one pre-sketched wood ornament\, apron\, tools\, instructions and one complimentary beverage from the cafe (wine\, beer and cider available for those 21+ with valid ID).
