SUMMARY:History Hounds Explore Scott's Addition Walking Tour
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a special dog-friendly tour of Scott’s Addition\, presented in collaboration with the Richmond SPCA! Originally named for General Winfield Scott\, this early-20th century commercial and industrial area contains what is perhaps Richmond’s best selection of Art Deco and Moderne commercial architecture. Dig into the history behind this popular Richmond district\, now a booming residential neighborhood.\n\nHistory Hounds Walking Tours are made possible through the partnership between the Valentine and the Richmond SPCA. Dogs must be up-to-date on vaccines\, mix well with others (both human and canine) and remain on a leash.\nPet guardians are responsible for water and cleaning up after their dogs.\nAdvanced tickets are required. Tickets are non-refundable.\nPlease note that this tour is 1.5 to 2 miles in length. We recommend you wear comfortable walking shoes\, use a non-extendable leash for your dog\, bring water\, a bowl and bags for pickup.\nAccessibility: People of all abilities are encouraged to join us. If we can do anything to accommodate your needs\, please let us know in advance by emailing tours@thevalentine.org.\nTours are held rain or shine. However\, in extreme weather\, a tour may be cancelled. Notifications about tour status and cancellation will be sent to registrants via email. You can also call 804-649-0711 x 301 to verify a tour will take place.\n\nThe Valentine’s walking tours are supported in part through a generous partnership with Richmond Region Tourism and The Valentine Museum.
