Group Volunteer Opportunities

Thank you for your interest in bringing a group to volunteer at the Richmond SPCA!

• Volunteer groups are scheduled Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday beginning at 10 a.m.

• We can accommodate groups of 4 to 10 volunteers per shift. If your group is larger than 10 people, we can schedule multiple service dates to include more volunteers.

• All volunteers must sign our Volunteer Release and Waiver of Liability prior to the start of their volunteer shift.

• Volunteers who are between the ages of 7 and 14 are permitted to volunteer in a group, but they must be accompanied by at least one adult. Volunteers ages 14 and older may volunteer independently. All children under 18 must present a waiver signed by a parent prior to the start of their shift.

During volunteer group shifts, we assign volunteers a variety of tasks to support our different departments and to help with special projects. At the end of their shift, volunteer groups will have the opportunity to meet and give some love to shelter pets in our care who are awaiting their forever homes. 

The Volunteer Management Team schedules volunteer groups on a quarterly basis.

We are currently scheduling volunteer groups through March 2026. To be notified when we begin scheduling groups later in 2026, please email volunteer@richmondspca.org to be added to our waiting list.
