Notable adoptions
Honey: Honey is a sweet 5-year-old who came into our care in December and quickly became a staff favorite. She greeted the Richmond SPCA team every day with headbutts and plenty of love. During her time with us, we learned that Honey would thrive in a calm, adult-only home where she can spend her days relaxing. After two months in our care, we're happy to share that she found her perfect match. Congratulations to Honey and her new best friend!

Wilbur: This sweet senior was transferred into our care in November. While with us, our veterinary team discovered that Wilbur had a few medical conditions, including stage 1 kidney disease and blindness. With medical treatment, lots of love and some time in foster care, Wilbur was ready to find a best friend of his own and finally did last week. Congratulations to this sweet boy and his new guardian!

Chutney: Chutney was transferred into our care in August and immediately put smiles on all of our faces! This sweet 12-year-old couldn’t contain herself when it came to belly rubs and would frequently stop mid-walk just to show us her belly. Although she was diagnosed with a rare mammary cancer and bronchitis, she remained a goofy, lively senior beagle. We’re happy to share that Chutney worked her charm last week and found someone to spend the rest of her golden years with. Congratulations!

Minnow: We met Minnow in November, and she stole our hearts right away! While in our care, she was incredibly affectionate and sweet, but loud noises caused her some extra stress in the shelter environment. During the recent winter storm, Minnow was able to take a break and enjoy some peace and quiet in foster care, where she absolutely thrived. Shortly after her return, Minnow met her perfect match. Congratulations to this sweet girl and her adopter!

Zander: Zander is an affectionate 3-year-old who loved making new friends, going on field trips and taking training classes. Although he had been in and out of our care since August, we’re thrilled to share that Zander finally found a place to call home. We’re so excited for this silly boy and his new family!
