Celebrate a birthday at the Richmond SPCA!

Birthday parties may be scheduled during the following times:

  • 5 p.m. Fridays
  • 10:00 a.m, 12:30 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. Saturdays
  • 12:30 p.m and 3:00 p.m. Sundays

We recommend that you schedule your child’s party at least six to eight weeks in advance for the best date availability.

We need at least one adult for every five kids to stay for the duration of the party, and additional adults are always welcome. Parents or hosts provide food and drinks for party guests.

Animal Lover Birthday Party

$250 for 10 children (including the birthday child); $12 for each additional child up to a maximum of 15 children. This party is best for children ages 8-16 years old.

This party package includes:

  • 1.5 hours in our party room with a Richmond SPCA party host
  • Each child will help make animal enrichment items for the cats and dogs in our care
  • A special visit from one of the dogs or cats in our care
  • All paper products (plates, cups, napkins, utensils and tablecloths)
  • One Richmond SPCA goodie bag per child
  • Setup and cleanup by a party host

Pet Adoption Birthday Party

$300 for 10 children (including the birthday child); $15 for each additional child up to a maximum of 25 children.

This party package includes:

  • 1.5 hours in our party room with a Richmond SPCA party host
  • One small “adopted” stuffed animal (cat or dog) per child to be taken home in a carrier box that he or she will decorate
  • A special visit from one of the dogs or cats in our care
  • All paper products (plates, cups, napkins, utensils and tablecloths)
  • One Richmond SPCA goodie bag per child
  • Setup and cleanup by a party host

Deluxe Pet Adoption Birthday Party

$350 for 10 children (including the birthday child); $15 for each additional child up to a maximum of 25 children. Available for children 5 and up.

This party package includes:

  • 1.5 hours in our party room with a Richmond SPCA party host
  • One large toy dog or cat that each child will stuff, adopt and take home
  • A special visit from one of the dogs or cats in our care
  • All paper products (plates, cups, napkins, utensils and tablecloths)
  • One Richmond SPCA goodie bag per child
  • Setup and cleanup by a Richmond SPCA party host

Cancellations made within seven days of the birthday party date are eligible for a 50% refund of the birthday fee. After seven days, refunds may be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Birthday faqs?

What time can I arrive to the party?

You are welcome to arrive up to 30 minutes early to set up and greet your party guests as they arrive.

What is provided?

We will provide all paper products (plates, cups, napkins, utensils, and tablecloths) for the party. 

What color are the paper products?

All paper products are offered in the Richmond SPCA colors, which are a navy and teal color. 

What is included in the goodie bag?

The good bag includes a lollipop, animal stickers, and a humane education business card.  We welcome you to bring additional favors if you would like. 

Can I bring outside decorations?

We welcome you to bring any outside decorations you would like. 

Can I bring outside food and drinks?

We welcome you to bring in outside food and drink, we just ask that adults refrain from bringing alcoholic beverages.

If I am having pizza or food delivered, what time should I have it arrive? 

We recommend scheduling pizza and food deliveries to arrive 30 minutes into the party. 

When is a final headcount due? 

We will ask for an estimated headcount two days before the party. However, we base the final count charged for the party on who shows up on the day of the party. The remaining payment for any additional children will be handled on the day of the party.
 
When is the remaining payment due?
 
The remaining and final payment will be due at the end of the party.
