Heartwarming moment of the week

Notable adoptions

Zuzu: Zuzu, a sweet 2-year-old, spent more than a year in our care receiving treatment for chronic allergies that led to facial self-trauma. While she was unavailable for adoption during her recovery, her extended stay at the shelter brought joy to our entire team, and we recently celebrated her one year anniversary by throwing her a party with her favorite people.

After some time receiving medical care and observation, Zuzu was finally cleared for adoption, and found her lasting, loving home last week. We're so thrilled for Zuzu and her new family. Congratulations!

Selene: We first met Selene in January, and she quickly stole everyone's hearts at the shelter and around RVA. Selene had several field trips while in our care and truly enjoyed every adventure and every person she met. After waiting several months for her adoption day, Selene found her perfect match last week. Congratulations!

Sadie: Sadie was transferred into our care in November and loved the people in her inner circle. While she was a little nervous during her stay with us, after some time, she learned to be more trusting with those around her. She had a wonderful stay in foster care, which also helped her open up. Sadie was a big fan of cheek scratches, watching her favorite TV shows, and spending time with her closest friends. Congratulations to this sweet girl and her new guardian!

Koala: Koala joined us at the Richmond SPCA in January and made so much progress along the way. When he first came into our care, he was nervous but showed interest in those who visited with him. Over time, he began to come out of his hiding spots to greet the friends he had made while with us.

Koala is also positive for feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV), which can often prolong a cat's stay. Luckily, last week, this sweet guy met his match. Congratulations!
