Last week, 105 homeless pets walked their way into their lasting, loving homes. We said a heartfelt goodbye to pets like Junebug, Morgan, Skillet and GiGi. Congratulations to all of our newest alumni and their adopters!

Notable adoptions
Ellie: Ellie had been in our care since January after being found in the woods. She was very nervous, but seemed to open up around other dogs. Last week, Ellie found her lasting, loving home where she'll spend the rest of her days with several other dog siblings. We're so happy for Ellie and her new family!

Skillet: Skillet first came into our care in July 2024 and a year later, finally found a place of his own. He was nervous at first, but truly blossomed after our staff earned his trust. We can't wait to see Skillet's full personality shine through in his new home. Congratulations to Skillet and his new guardian!

GiGi: We met GiGi in March 2025 and he quickly became friends with so many of our staff, volunteers and trainers. He was a shy guy at first, but with some extra love and attention, found his people while in our care. We are so happy to share that after three months at our humane center, GiGi found his pawfect match. Huge shoutout to this cutie and his new family!

Eve: Eve came to the Richmond SPCA in February and found a new best friend when she went into foster care who gave her so much love and attention. She did so well during her time in a foster home, where she came out of her shell and learned to trust people. Last week, this sweet girl met her match and found a place to call home. Congratulations to Eve and her new family!

Morgan: Morgan first came into our care in May 2024 and finally found his pawfect match last week. This sweet boy made several friends while in our care and they cried happy tears as he walked into the car and headed off to his lasting, loving home. Congratulations!

Barb's Run
Last week, construction for our outdoor dog recreation began, and soon enough, our dogs will have a grassy area right here on our grounds to enjoy. Thanks to a generous gift from the Barbara Brunckhorst Foundation, our new outdoor space will be named in her honor. Fittingly, it will be called Barbâs Run â a place where shelter dogs can stretch their legs, chase balls and simply be dogs.
