Local artist Kimberly McNamee is offering custom, hand-painted acrylic portraits of your beloved pets. Each piece is a unique, lifelike work of art you’ll treasure forever.

Commissions are open to a variety of companion animals, beyond just cats and dogs.

Each pet’s face in a portrait is $175, with $45 from each pet portrait donated to the Richmond SPCA. Shipping is available at $25 per portrait.

Portraits include:

8-by-10-inch gallery-wrapped stretched canvas – canvas will be ready to hang , no frame needed.
Headshot only (pet’s head and neck).

Pre-registration and a $45 deposit is required. The deposit is included in the overall price of each portrait. Only 40 portraits are available and they will sell out quickly! Payment plan options are also available.

The first batch of 20 portraits will be completed by August 12, 2025 — SOLD OUT

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Kimberly McNamee has been a lifelong animal lover with a passion for capturing the unique spirit of pets through art. A 2014 graduate of VCU’s School of the Arts, Kimberly has since honed her skills in creating vibrant pet portraits using both markers and acrylic paint.

In 2024, Kimberly’s talent caught the attention of national pet supply retailer Chewy, where she began painting custom portraits as part of a surprise customer appreciation initiative. To date, she has completed nearly 300 hand-painted 6x6 portraits for Chewy customers, featuring pets like lizards, horses, bunnies, guinea pigs, and more.

In addition to her portrait work, Kimberly’s art can be seen in public spaces throughout Richmond, including her Super Mario–themed mural at The Answer Brewpub, a local favorite.
