When school is out, camp is in! These full day camps are the perfect way for kids ages 6 to 11 to spend a school break learning, playing and connecting with shelter pets through hands on activities and animal centered fun.

Perfect for the camper who loves arts and crafts and can't get enough animal facts. Campers will explore what autumn means for animals and their environments, learn how to read animal body language and spend time interacting with the cats and dogs in our care.

Does your camper love animals, puzzles or a little friendly competition? Clash of the Critters is built for them. Campers will learn about seasonal animals, the climates they live in and what it takes to survive, all while going head to head in relay races, puzzles, timed challenges and mystery words, plus plenty of time learning how to safely interact with and meet the animals in our care. Come join the fun!
Children must be 6 years old on or before the first day of the camp week for which they are registered.
Campers may not attend more than 25 days within any three month period.
Extended Care and Full Day Options
Want to extend the day? Add optional aftercare at checkout to keep your camper with us until 5 p.m.
For half day programs, you're welcome to register your camper for both the morning and afternoon sessions, where they'll enjoy different activities throughout the day. Please send a packed lunch if your camper is registered for a full day experience.
If a program does not meet minimum enrollment, we reserve the right to cancel the session. Registered participants will be notified and offered the option to transfer to another session or receive a full refund.
What to Bring
- Water bottle labeled with your camper's name
- Peanut free and nut free* lunch and two snacks
- Closed toe shoes (including Crocs)
- Clothes that can get a little messy
- Prescription medications if needed, including EpiPens (an authorization form must be completed at drop off by a legal guardian; email cauernheimer@richmondspca.org to receive this form ahead of time)
*While we request that campers bring peanut free snacks and lunches, peanut butter is present in the building and is sometimes offered to the dogs in our care as a treat. If your child has a severe peanut allergy, please contact our Humane Education Manager so we can set up a time to talk before camp.
