ANIMAL BRIGADE
middle school service club
The Richmond SPCA’s Animal Brigade Service Club is a wonderful way for middle school students (grades 6 through 8) to learn more about their four-legged friends and how to help them through volunteer projects and humane education. This club is held twice a year with fall and spring sessions.
Our Animal Brigade Service Club holds a fall and spring session, each of which includes four Saturday mornings of activities (9:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.).
Topics and activities for Animal Brigade sessions vary depending on the needs of the Richmond SPCA and the animals in our care. Activities Projects might include: socializing and bathing dogs, making cat toys, collecting wish list items for homeless animals, learning about issues that affect animals and contribute to animal homelessness, passing out treats to dogs and cats in our care, folding laundry and learning about pet behavior and reward-based training.
Please read our health-related policies and procedures for Animal Brigade.
Payment of Animal Brigade Service Club dues of $80 per four-week session should be made two weeks prior to the first meeting by credit card online. If you would prefer to pay by cash or check, please coordinate with our Manager of Humane Education. Checks should be made out to Richmond SPCA. Please do not send payment with your application.
