During the spring, summer and fall months, we see a dramatic increase in the number of kittens in our care. You can ensure that our shelter is fully stocked and ready to supply foster care providers with kitten equipment by shopping our Foster Care Wishlist here.
Our Foster Care program allows our pets to spend time outside of our shelter while they remain in our care. Our wonderful foster care volunteers help ensure the safety and comfort of our pets while they are recovering from medical procedures, or just waiting to meet their perfect match.
Items in the Animal Care category help us meet the basic physical needs of the pets in our care.
Here at the Richmond SPCA, our animal behavior & training team ensures that each of the animals in our shelter are happy and mentally healthy. The products in this category help our pets have fun! From tasty treats to interesting puzzle toys, our pets love to see donations from this category.
Veterinary supplies* are crucial to caring for all of the pets in our shelter, hospital and at Smoky’s Spay & Neuter Clinic. Items on this list help us to provide medical attention to those who need it most and support our TNVR program at Smoky’s.

The Richmond SPCA actively supports the Richmond chapter of Street Dog Coalition, which is an organization that provides free veterinary care to the pets of people experiencing or at risk of homelessness. Along with free veterinary care, Street Dog Coalition offers a pet pantry that is stocked with pet supplies including pet food, collars, leashes, toys and bedding.
Shop the Street Dog Coalition wish list on Amazon and help us support Richmond community pets and their people.
The goal of this wish list is to collect personal supplies for the people attending these clinics. We are hoping to collect items such as over-the-counter medications, hygiene products, clothing and non-perishable foods. Along with advocating for Street Dog Coalition, we are donating space at our shelter to act as a hub for the donated items.
