We Were Adopted: July 7 – 13, 2025
Last week, our adoption bell rang 123 times as we celebrated all of the sweet pets who found their homes! We said a heartfelt goodbye to 112 cats and 11 dogs. Among those were pets like Haybale, Rooster, Lucky Charm and Ducky. Huge congratulations to all of our new alumni and their guardians!

Notable adoptions
Haybale and Rooster: Haybale and Rooster are a bonded pair who came into our care in early June. These two were so sweet and friendly that we knew it wouldn’t be too long before they met their match. Last week, these besties found their perfect home and we are so happy for them and their adopters!
Harold: Harold is a sweet pup who had been in and out of our care since February 2024. He had many friends at our humane center, however, last week, Harold met the friend who mattered the most. We are so excited to share that Harold was adopted after patiently waiting to find his person. Congratulations!
Bri: We met Bri when she came into our care in April. She was a little shy and nervous when meeting new people, which meant finding her adopter was going to be a little harder, but our knowledgable adoption counselors helped her find her way. After three months at the Richmond SPCA, Bri left our care to live her best life in a home of her own. Congratulations to Bri and her guardian!
Tawni: Tawni had been in and out of our care since September 2023 and our team was determined to find her perfect home. After many months of searching for her person, Tawni finally got the chance to hear the adoption bell ring for her last week. Congratulations!
Luck Charm: Lucky Charm had been on a mission to find her new best friend since March. After patiently waiting to find her human, Lucky Charm finally got her chance to strut out of the shelter and into her new home last week. We’re so excited for her and her adopter!
Pochita: If you’ve been following Pochita, you know that she’s been looking for her perfect match since February 2025, and we are so happy to share that she went home last week. Congratulations to Pochita and her new guardian!
Ducky: Ducky was a sweetie who had been in and out of our care since September 2024. She loved getting head scratches and sunbathing while at our humane center, and is now getting to enjoy just that in a home of her own. Congratulations to Ducky and her adopter!
