Pet Post: Fall 2025 edition

Dear Friend,
As you read this newsletter, I hope you feel a surge of pride and a deep connection to the extraordinary work we are doing together. Inside, you’ll find inspiring stories of hope and resilience — tales of animals whose lives have been transformed — alongside powerful statistics that show the scope and impact of our services, all thanks to your remarkable generosity.

It’s no surprise that providing essential, lifesaving care comes with significant expense, and these expenses have been rising sharply in recent years. The average cost to care for each homeless animal throughout their stay at our humane center is about $930, and the average daily cost to care for all the pets we shelter exceeds $11,000. The financial demands are indeed greater than ever. Yet, it is your unwavering support that enables us to meet these needs head-on for the animals who depend on us.
Your contributions are more than donations — they are the heartbeat of our no-kill mission. You are our true partner, enabling us to deliver critical services like those described in this newsletter and extend a helping hand to vulnerable animals such as Ozzie, Laelynn, and Waylon. We simply can’t do this critical work or save these precious lives without you.
To amplify your already incredible impact, I am thrilled to share that our dear friends Christy and Dave Cottrell have offered to match every gift of $50 or more made in response to this newsletter before September 30, up to $10,000. This opportunity means your support will go even further, saving twice as many lives and strengthening our ability to show up for animals and the people who love them.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for being such a vital part of our family and for making what we do for the animals who need us possible. Your love truly saves lives — now more than ever.
With my deepest gratitude,

Tamsen Kingry
Chief Executive Officer
