Richmond’s Signature Event for People and Their Pets
Our annual Fur Ball is Richmond’s only black-tie event for people and their pets.
The one-of-a-kind evening, typically held at the historic Jefferson Hotel, is the Richmond SPCA’s largest annual fundraiser. All proceeds raised help sick, injured and neonatal homeless animals. Money raised through the Fur Ball supports our Cinderella Fund, the pool of resources that helps to cover the cost of the medical treatment and rehabilitation of the thousands of dogs, cats, kittens and puppies we take into our care each year. More than 80% of the pets who enter our shelter depend on the lifesaving Cinderella Fund for crucial care before we adopt them into loving, lasting homes.

We have been carefully monitoring public health advice regarding large gatherings in wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. Instead of an in-person event in 2020, we have chosen to create a virtual Fur Ball experience to keep our guests and staff safe, while continuing to raise crucial, lifesaving funds for pets in need.
The Fur Ball is one of the most beloved annual occasions in Richmond and sells out quickly every year. The event has been recognized as the:
